A pendulum can be made from anything usually a small gemstone on a chain. It is allowing to swing while holding it. You ask it yes and no questions. Be very specific with questions. The accuracy will depend on what you are using it for. I have found MANY lost items with it.

Instead of asking of others about the Pendulum or me answering you, Here is directions on creating your own pendulum that have been part of the Lore for a very long time.
To make such an instrument of divining, first thee must find the object you will use for the weight of it. This weight may be of wood, metal, or crystal, but may ne'er have even a bit o' Iron in it. This object should be of the size of your thumb, or a bit smaller. Do not choose quickly. Take each object you find, where ere you find it, and place it your closed palm. Some sign will tell you whether this be that which is best for you. If your weight does not have a hole by which it may be hung, touch and rub until the place for it makes itself evident, then make the hole by the easiest means.
Next ye should find a cord the length of your forearm from which this weight will be hung. The best be the hair from the mane or tail of a stallion for a man and a silken thread for a woman. Other things may be chosen, but they will not be as strong.
Last, a small wooden bead is needed, for this be where the questor do hold the device when it be in use.
The weight be attached at one end of the cord and the bead at the other. Each should be tied with a clinch knot.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
When all the above have been accomplished You will have *your" pendulum of which to ask questions. Some even make a board of wood in a half circle with yes at one end and no at the other with the alphabet between along the arc.

Using a pendulum to figure out the gender of a baby is still 50/50 chances. A sonogram does a better job.
A pendulum, however, can be used to answer questions that you feel there is no answer for. Its touching into the subconsicous, which is also why its great to find things like lost keys.
I found my keys many times using a pendulum.

Mine has an adjustable weight on the pendulum. I just started moving it a little at a time each time it would stop until I found the spot where it kept running.

There are few types, and it depends. Some use crystals. I've seen and tried crystal pendulum and ... well, up to you to believe. People who use pendulum normally belief in them, therefore, the question if 'reliable' does not exist.
As usual, we don't go against the law of universe .... and, we don't decide gender ~ just accept with open mind, these are gift of God ....
Quite a number of place selling them today : - sacred space, whatever, sanctum.....

A pendulum is basically a weight on a thread or chain. If you're looking for a yes or no answer to a question, you first need to ask it to show you "yes" and watch what direction it swings. Then ask it to show you "no" and watch what direction it swings. Then ask it a yes/no question and see how it swings. You could substitute girl/boy for the yes/no.

My great-grandmother used to say if a pregnant woman tied her wedding band onto the end of a length of string and hung it over her belly, the motion of the ring told you the sex of the baby. If it swung back and forth in a straight line it was a boy, and if it swung in a circle it was a girl.

I am not into witchcraft, or fortune telling as a serious event. If I did it, I would do it just for fun, and not take it so seriously....
