Need work ASAP in union... will anyone have me? In Phoenix, need journeyman to take me under their wing..

that is the tough thing for carpenters, they have to solicit their own work. here in vegas they drive from job site to job site looking for work unless they have friends in the trade they can call and get work.

You have to be accepted into the union, I don't know how it works out there but, usually you pay the fee. It used to be $200.00 and then you start the apprenticeship school, you work so many hours a day and go to school so many hours, for two years, then you start your journey mans training.

Go to a building site and talk to the carpenters and see what they say, that's the best way to get answers.

call the business agent for the carpenters union in phoenix and tell him you are interested in joining their apprenticeship program...if you have any experience at all you can serve your apprenticeship in less than 4 years...then most of your work will come through the hall and it will be his job to keep you working...we sometimes find work on our own but most of my work comes from my business agent...
