I didn't think at the start that they "did it" but right from the start i said they were very very wrong to leave kids that young on their own, and then it seemed that there was not really much emotion coming form them, not really any tears, sobbing on tv, etc, and it all seemed a bit strange, and now it seems like the evidence is building up against them and the police are finally starting to look closer to home for what happened to her. I hope that it is sorted soon, and the child's body is found and given a proper funeral, and also that if they are proved guilty then they get a long and unhappy prison sentance for it. They have two other children who should be being watched very carefully at the moment to keep them safe.

No i think many people are of the same opinion but I think that before we completely cast them down and pin them as murderers that we wait and see how the case develops.
I do agreet that they are responsible for her disappearence but to what extent they were involved I have decided to keep an open mind. I do believe that all th facts dont ad up to make their claims of that nite true but in saying that I think Gerry is more involved. Im interested to find out what Kate had in her diary, what kind or man/ father Gerry is.
This case needs an end now for the sake of that poor little girl whos memory is being lost among all the hype over her parents.

You see..the thing is, that when these sort of incidents happens, there is always a lot of different view on seeing the whole case.
In our minds we want to believe that a couple like the McCanns, couldn't harm their little daugter, on the other hand if the police has relevant statement, it gets more obvious, that we need to separate mind and heart.
Whit this said I do accept the many theories showed up in the media, who daily search for a scoop to publicate. But I would go easy also, on judging harshly on facts, still unconfirmed. Sadly we will just really need to wait and see, and hope that, that little girl, will be found, somewhere safely!
Also, it makes me concerned to hear, so many people say:It's them- they didn't mourn enough. Or they way she cries is not right.
I mean, fine we all try to appear as the best people readers, but sometimes, people can be so different, that they might express feelings in different ways. And it's absolutely not enough background to accuse such a delicate case.

No, definitely not.
However... the problem, in my view, is this. I just don't buy into the idea that we should assume they are guilty without knowing ALL the facts first. I personally may have my suspicions, but in reality, I can't give a fully informed opinion, as I'm not educated of all the evidence yet. None of us are. The investigation is still secret, and the leaks are not reliable until they are officially confirmed.
Which is why I find it utterly absurd to see someone say "the evidence all points to them being guilty. End of." Unless you are privy to all the evidence and facts of this case, that statement is ridiculous. It doesn't matter how many people claim that speculation is fact - until it is officially verified, it is simply speculation. Now that IS a fact.
Also... someone being guilty of child neglect does not automatically make them guilty of murder, or manslaughter.
What sort of atrocious kangaroo court convicts on the hearsay of media desperate for a story? This isn't reality TV. It's not as simple as it appears.
I hope that makes sense - to me, it IS common sense.

No, many now have doubts that this distressing scene may come true. Strange, is it not?The parents are crying for their 'kidnapped' child, after themselves responsible for her disappearance! Actually their prompt flight from Portugal , after claiming to stay put to clear their names started a nagging doubt in my mind that they might have something to hide.
I only hope the prosecuters have enough evidence to get stringent conviction if they are really guilty. It will be a really sad day if they are let off on some technicalities.

I doubt if you are the only who has doubts.
The only thing that has ever bugged me from day 1 is why oh why did two intelligent people with a wealth of knowledge relating to children in their professions - leave two 2 year olds and a 4 year old alone.
They had the financial means to pay for a baby sitter [facilities were available on the complex I understand].
It is normal practice nowadays to take your children out with you of an evening - even if they fall asleep in their prams. The Portugese love children and would encourage this kind of behaviour in their bars/restaurants.

No your not alone, i have had niggling doubts right from day one, something as just not rang true from the start, what some people seem to not realise is that these "forensic" tests have been done by UK police in the UK and passed on to the Portugese police, so the Portugese police are not clutching at straws and fitting them up, as its being suggested, they ( the Port/gese police) have just been given new evidence etc to work with.
I pray to God every one is wrong, and yes your innocent till proven guilty....when convicted it as to be without reasonable doubt....

What concerns me is this:
Portughese criiminologists.
They cant be the greasy market place hawkers the British Press has made them out to be.
Surely they're University trained in Forensics?
The Genetic code is the Genetic code.
Why would they have planted DNA in that car?
Whatever it was it found its way into that car trunk.
And Kate always had her make up put carefully on even in the first days.
The mourning period seemed very short for her.
Also she was asked once on SKY what she would say to her child at this moment and boy it was an awkward moment.
Lacking in any kind of spontaneous compassion.
British stiff upper lip doesnt count in times like that.
I have my disconcertions.

No Lou - not by any means. Just check some Q & A for the past couple of weeks at least - then you'll see you're not alone!
EDIT: FAIRY_DEPP - Sorry to burst your bubble, petal - but how can you stop what hasn't been started? The FUND was put in place to search for Madeleine (allegedly) - so how come there's still over a MILLION QUID in it? The way you're talking you'd think that those two were out searching themselves. THINK ON! They were either swanning about Europe, sunning themselves beside a bloody pool or going jogging. And if indeed that WAS the case - HOW THE HELL CAN THEY SEARCH FOR MADELEINE WHEN THEY ARE BACK IN GB?

Not at all!
From here the majority thinks the same.
And with them:
Portuguese Police
British Police
Most of the media (to sell or not)
Forensic tests
And maybe some Private Detectives who thought they would be called to FIND MADELEINE.
