romantic notions of love but hopeless assertions for usually the one that they love does not love them back- or doesn't even know them for that matter. hopeless because love does not choose to dwell on that someone's heart.

we live on hopes created by romantic thoughts and aspirations like all aspiration dont materialise all ur love calls dont ,calling it hopeless would be under-rating ,love, which is a still not polluted in this world.and is worth giving its due as love is the only cure to all ills in this world

a hopeless romantic is someone who leads a romantic life...not the kind of person who is all flowers and sunsets and being naive but the person who sees their love in every aspect of their life...

Lol first time I saw it, I red "homeless romantic"...
Its a person who is monogamist (if girl, for boys its rare), believe that love is the biggest power on world, cant stand sharing loved one with anyone, would cross the ocean for someones smile etc

Actually I think that term is contradictory........If you have a romantic heart and soul......it is always hopeFUL, not hopeLESS.
