Now that Bush has pretty openly proclaimed iraq a colony of the US - you'll have troops stationed forever, and maniulate a puppet government while looting the resources - will the US finally stop calling itself a "democracy" or a "republic" and openly admit its a military empire?

Boy, did you get that backwards, dude!
Instead of reading Maliki the riot act, Bush knuckled under and proclaimed the United States a colony of Iraq!

We get taxed to the hilt to protect the Sunnis, Shias, and Kurds against foreign invaders ("undocumenteds"???) from surrounding countries, who come thru Anbar to attack Iraqi natives. But we Americans, who pay the bills and suffer the TAXATION, get no REPRESENTATION in the Iraqi parliament. Meanwhile, they keep all of their oil revenues, and loot OUR treasury to protect their country.

So WHO has the empire?
And which country is the COLONY?

Bush should not have let Colin Powell naively waste a year farting around at the corrupt United Nations, before finally sending his ultimatum. After "regime change" (mission accomplished), Bush should have immediately broken up the phony "nation" of "Iraq" (invented by the British in 1922, after the fall of the Ottoman Empire) into its 18 autonomous provinces, with maybe a weak central government to share the oil revenues (most of which we should have confiscated, to repay the cost of freeing the natives from their dictator).

Well, it's too late for that now, but at least we might keep Baghdad from becoming the headquarters of the group that declared war on the United States in 1994. (Check out the "Fatwah", that declared war on us more than seven years before we finally woke up!)

Based on your poorly conceived logic, every country in which we have an embassy is a colony, which is almost all of them. That would, of course, make the US a colony of all those countries. Good luck trying to figure out those pesky crop circles.

So by your reasoning, Germany, Japan, Korea, Britain, Italy, Sadi Arabia, Africa, and a slew of other countries that we have a permanent base of residence at is a colony? Did anyone tell them that?

edit: Hey Unity, it's Operation Iraqi Freedom.
