I got like a 3.6 in both freshman and sophmore year, and now im in my junior year. The highest gpa I can get this year is 4.3, because i have 2 weighted classes. I heard I need a 3.9 _minimum_ to get accepted into UCI, but that just sounds ridiculous. Even if i get a 4.3 this year my total gpa is like 3.86. Also my psat scores are around 1700-1800, but im taking a class so ill probably score higher. Do I have a chance at getting into UCI? What gpa and sat scores would I need to get this year if I wanted to get in? I heard theyre easier on you if you live in Irvine.

You definitely have a chance. Do not lose hope and keep working hard at school.

I go to UCI and I got in with an overall 3.9 GPA (3.4 unweighted), and 1700ish SAT scores, with a 26 on the ACT. You seem to have grades/scores in the range that they accept because my friends all fell within that range as well. If nothing else, write killer essays!

I think you have a good chance. UCI is a middle-tier UC and it's not as competitive as UCLA or Cal. In fact, I think most rejects from Cal or UCLA go there (nothing bad if UCI is where you want to go, my neighbor went there and he's a doctor earning a six-figure salary now).

go to the UCI site and look they should have the requirements to get into the school. If they don't go to your guidance counselor and she should be able to find out foe you.
