I say no, women don't.

An excerpt from an article on MedicineNet.com:

-----

Any mother will tell you that if men had to go through the excruciating pain of childbirth the human race would have become extinct long ago.

According to feminine lore, guys simply don't handle pain well. The tiniest twinge of discomfort is enough to reduce most men into helpless, whimpering heaps. Women, on the other hand, can handle the tough stuff. In fact, you can ratchet up the old pain-o-meter to agony and beyond and most women will soldier on without flinching.

The trouble with that theory is -- it's wrong. And now men have the science to prove it.

"The laboratory research seems to indicate that for many kinds -- but not all kinds -- of stimuli, women have a lower tolerance for pain," says Linda LeResche, ScD, a professor of oral medicine at the University of Washington, in Seattle.

Of course we do. Men start moaning at the slightest ache without having a clue what we go through with childbirth and periods. We just grin and bear it. There may be the odd exception, but most men I've met are wimps when in pain and like to let everyone know about it. We suffer in silence and the respective pain barriers don't compare!

Scientifically, I thought it was a well established fact. ALTHOUGH, I read in More magazine a few weeks ago that men have a higher pain threshold...which I think it just a lie. Women are programmed to suffer more than men.

I'd say yeah, women were given the ability to go through child birth so they must have, i'm not man bashing, at all, but have you seen a mans reaction over a scratch?

Not all women do just because they have period pains and pop out a few kids it's an individual thing and if you asked all women about childbirth some would say it wasn't that painful while others would say never again.

Hard to say. I think that some men can handle more extreme pain better such as firefighters and soldiers. But other men will pass out from a flu shot.

In general I would agree with you, but with everything there are exceptions to the rule.
There are both men and women out there who have a very high tolerance to pain controlled by their minds, whether self -taught or through their beliefs.

I don't really know, but how about one 5'2" normally 100 lb woman giving birth to a 91/2 lb baby,4 minuite labour for over ten hours and almost no meds,no screaming either.

Most definitely, do you think that men could bear pregnancy, period pains the way women have to, there would have been a cure by now if they had to.
