Have periods 2 weeks apart every second cycle - for past 8 months now.
Initial investigations have negated abnormal growths, fibroids, pregnancy etc, and hormone levels do not indicate I'm peri menopausal.
HELP !! Any information from other women who have experienced the same (and are peri menopausal or menopausal) would be great help!
I'm just about beside myself, and the doctor must be thinking I'm making it all up !

You dont say how old you are , so forgive me if Im way off here BUT.....I went through the same scenario during my early to mid forties....the two week cycle went on for 5 years....I had every test known to man, every medication to correct it ( including the pill). Every result came back that I was NOT peri-menopausal / menopausal...that my hormone levels were NORMAL range....and that everything was ''healthy'' down there....I ended up just living with it and adapting to the week on week off - week on week off routine. At the time, I felt like it was never going stop, or correct itself, I also worried I had something no one could identify....It definately WAS the menopause....and at 47 my periods simply stopped !!...no messing around, just here today and gone tomorrow...That was almost 4 years ago now. I was almost at my wits end and was considering a hysterectomy....I am so glad i didnt have to go through that surgery. I know this is really no consolation to you right now...but trust YOUR thoughts, you know your body....Keep healthy, take multi-vits with Iron as a supplement and as long as you are happy there is no disease...let nature take its course......I hope this helps a little, Stay well and hang in there.

I have had problems with irregular periods due to a hormone imbalance. Some kinds of hormone imbalances (and sometimes it doesn't always show up on the bloodwork) such as with the thyroid can cause the periods to be irregular.

I would recommend getting another opinion, but maybe with an endocrinologist (a doctor that diagnoses and treats diseases and disorders that relates to hormones) if you haven't already to see what they say.

I had a similar problem and the doctor said that I was going through continuous cycle and I was put on birth control to stop all cycles and restart me so to speak. The birth control pills worked and I didn't have to stay on them a long time as I have already had my tubes tied. good luck
