At first the mind boggled. However, the Canadian Press reports that "Among other things, it is also said to have body-building effects."
According to Wikipedia "Some athletes and bodybuilders also use GHB, as GHB is thought to increase the release or production of growth hormone. While there is some evidence supporting these claims, the actual efficacy of GHB for this purpose is unclear.
One possible explanation is that growth hormone is secreted increasingly when blood glucose levels are low in a condition called hypoglycemia. The use of GBL, GHB, some depressants, and insulin, all of which are notably of use by bodybuilders, lowers blood glucose, thus causing the secretion of growth hormone."
It used to be sold widely in nutrition stores by bodybuilders before it became illegal.

I have friends that party with the stuff all the time. They like it because it doesn't take as long to flush out of their system. At least that's what they said. LOL It's also a muscle relaxant and tends to ease the bowels. I've known girls to party with small amounts to lose weight. Pretty wild.
