I am selling tropical plants in my store and I need more room to store my plants. I would like to be able to attach something to the building but I don't want to have to get an ac or heater unit. What is the biggest size? What kind of building can I add?

Both 1 & 2 offer valid thoughts. I'll add my two cents as well. Number 2 offers a reality for plant depts. in most major Big Box stores, no matter the location.

There is another likely issue however. Do you own the shop and land it's on? Are you part of a "strip mall"? If you lease the space Have you connected with the owners to verify that you're even allowed to "add on"?

Without knowing where you are; IE: Northern MI or Southern FL; is this a seasonal thing? Will the market/your customers; support an addition; not only in size; but increased utilities? Depending on plant types, you might likely need more, some ambient light at least; and a "misting" system; rather than lowering air temps. Also without knowing the plant types...as important to temp controls and proper watering/feeding; is the humidity of the space. Certainly any central AC will also aid in the depletion of humidity.

Finally "TYPE" of building. In large part that depends on your location; and the location of the shop. Hopefully for your benefit as well as the benefit of others there are existing CODES that you'll have to abide by; as well as any permission and documentation needed to make modifications, should you be in a lease situation.

I don't know where you live but here the stores that carry plants keep them out doors. they built an addition with just a roof. Then on the sides they use chain link or glass or both. These are well ventilated and act like a hot house so as to get allot of sun.
Go to Orchard or K-Mart and check it out .Good luck

First you will need to know what size your current Heating & A/C is and also the square footage of the office now. How tall are your ceilings and what part of the country are you from. All of these will play a role in if you can get away with what you have. Feel free to conact me
