My newborn seems really aggressive and growls a lot. He seems to get angry... I know it sounds weird but he does. he is 4 weeks old and has been doing this almost the entire time.

My son makes growl like noises and has for most of his life. He's now 6 months old and everyone calls him "Bear".

testing the vocal cords is right
My daughter would sound like she was growling when she was hungry. Most of the time she was just frustrated, but not really 'angry'.

Looks like you'll have a talker on your hands soon! Congrats

my daughter sounded like she was growling as a newborn so my H started saying "whose daddy's little bear"? and she would growl..... Now at 15 months it's a very sweet little game they play and show off to everyone who cares to listen.

My daughter used to growl too, I worked out it was when she had some wind stuck, so she was uncomfortable and annoyed.

My son is the same way, lol. We call him cookie monster, lol. He has such a temper (7 weeks old). Oh man when he wants something watch out. He pulls, hits, and kicks. I think its normal, lol..

He's just testing the vocals he can do. He's probably angry because he scares himself. He's a month old; he can't be doing it intentionally.

mine did that also for a while. my dad got her into doing it. it freaked me out so i had them stop encouraging her to do and she eventually grew tired of it and stopped. also i noticed my child got aggressive when she did the noise also. she liked to bite me when she was making that noise.
but i think it's just your baby discovering new voice tones.
