I currently have two bank accounts in good standing. However, I wish to open a 3rd one. Would that negatively affect my credit?

Your bank account is not reported on your credit file. Having multiple accounts has no effect on your credit score.

I know that each time you open an account, it is recorded in your credit history, possibly lowering your score. Either way, it doesn't look good.

Unless you have a business and personal accounts, own money to that bank, or trying to pull some sort of scam, I don't see the reason why you want three accounts, let alone do all that paperwork.
