I don't think Pool water (water with chlorine) is flamable... but maybe if you put some gasoline on the top of the water, yeah...

Would what burn? You? The pool? I imagine if you jumped in a conventional swimming pool, you'd put out the flames but when the chlorine reaches your scorched flesh, you're going to be hurting for a long while.

it depends what you were doused in before you were set on fire...unless the pool was overloaded with chemicals and you were not doused with anything (like gasoline) then it will put the fire out...because you are not a chemical fire and there is not enough chemicals in the pool to start one..there is a reason why floating pool candles don't light the entire pool on fire...they just go out when they are too low...chemical or electrical fires will get worse with water but regular fires will go out...(also assuming that you were not lit on fire by lightening or electrical shock and you did not jump in the pool while still being shocked).

No... a swimming pool would not burn. The concentration of chlorine in the water is far too low to be flamable. Straight chlorine powder is flamable, but in a 1000 gal pool there is only about 4lbs of it. The water would starve the fire of oxygen and you would be saved.

Not in a pool of water. The water would put out the fire.

Well...is there water in the pool, or is it empty? Is there gasoline in the pool? Then it might burn. If it's just water then no, but the question is really lacking some information to form an adequete answer.

What is the pool made of?

Is there anything in the pool?

If so, what?

If the answer to # 1 & # 3 are anything that is flammable, then, yes, it would burn.

Now, if you're talking about would you feel pain...yes.

if your on fire its gonna burn anyways, so anything you could do to put the fire out, whether its jumping in a pool or stop drop and roll or whatever, would be the best thing to do

If you were covered in a flammable substance when you jumped in, that may stay above the water and burn off. I think you saw more of that in older movies with poorer special effects.

That might depend on the cause of the fire. Not all fires can be put out with water!
