Don't expect it to make sense until you put some serious effort into learning science. When you get to the part about how it all began, you'll see that science doesn't have any answers, just conjectures. Science can't say it was created by God, but then science can't say it wasn't. Neither a theory nor a conjecture makes discoveries. People make discoveries. The very foundations of science were built by men of faith. Many of today's scientists are people of faith. There's no fundamental incompatibility.
