What's the appeal of being a jerk? This is absolutely a serious question by someone who is tired of being part of the minority of people who believe that rudeness/being a jerk are poor substitutes for true personal integrity and strength. But, ever the enlightened thinker, I am interested more in the why than the why not, perhaps it is I who is "missing out". Perhaps I didn't get the memo, so if you know (or have ever been told by a credible source) that you are: rude, a jerk, an a$$hole, or mean, please explain to me why you have chosen to be this way and why you suppose the majority of people today seem to agree with you? I am genuinely curious.

It's a ugly job and someone has to do it and trust me, it isn't as easy as it locks.

A rude jerk is nothing more than that. A jerk.
Ignore them and don't socialize with them.
With any luck, if they have no quality friends, they may change.
If they choose to surround themselves with those who share their bad behavior, well, you are better off with out them.

There should be no reason why anyone should be an asshole. they just need to enjoy life and not let their dislikes of things affect the way they portray themselfs. Like those people who squeeze fairly hard when shaking hands to show that they got some muscle. "Wow youre strong, I'm scared of you now"
