I grew up raising cattle and as a boy I had two pair, one for work and one for dress up. Never did I wear a cowboy hat, always a ball cap. Later, I had normal combat boots, jumps boots for dress up, and flat toe cowboy boots for casual and going out. Then I broke my left leg so bad on a jump that I couldn't wear the cowboy boots any more because my leg swells too bad. But I loved my cowboy boots and wish I could wear them again. I laugh sometimes at some of these guy's with their cowboy hat and boots knowing that the closest they ever were to a cow was a McDonald's Hamburger.

I,ve had a pair of Beige Justin Ropers now for over 15 years. They are the best fitting pair of boots i have ever owned. They are scuffed up and not the best looking pair of boots, but each scuff mark tell's a story that was a part of my youth.
It's funny you should ask this question...The only way i know to answer this is by a poem i once heard..written down below.

Although I don't have cows anymore,
I still wear my cowboy boots.
So I guess they're not just worn,
By cowboys, but also other galoots.

I've walked into a church in the city,
And started lookin' around for my seat.
It didn't take long to see I'm alone,
With cowboy boots on my feet.

My brother wears patent leather oxfords,
And he really hollers and hoots.
Whenever I walk into his house,
Wearing my cowboy boots.

Now if a fella's wearin' his sneakers,
He can run like a man with the scoots.
But he'd better not have too far to run,
If he's wearin' his cowboy boots.

I got rid of all my cattle,
In the spring of Eighty-Four.
Since the price hasn't gone down,
I haven't bought any more.

I've seen my share of horses,
And the work they could get done.
But now I'd rather drive my pick-up,
And leave the horses to my son.

I gave my son a saddle,
And an old gun that hardly shoots.
But one thing I won't give away,
Is my right to wear cowboy boots.

Some people might not understand it,
But there is one thing that I crave.
When I go home to be with my Lord,
I'll wear my boots to the grave.

I hope it won't be right away,
Cause there's so much left here to do.
But when I do go I won't be surprised,
If Saint Peter is wearin' 'em too.

I had to take off a boot because I forgot what brand they are! Currently wearing a brown pair of Tony Lama boots, because I just got done doing my horse chores. I have a black pair of Tony Lama's also, been re-soled because the leather is so comfortable. They are more for going out. I bought a pair of Abilene lace ups with the riding heel (followed a trend for once) but they are uncomfortable across the top even though I've soaked them and worn them dry twice.
When I finally do wear out a pair, I fill them with dirt and plant flowers in them. Too many memories to throw them out!

I have a pair of Black Elephant Hide Justins that I have had every since I was about 19 or 20 years old, I`m almost 42 now and have worn them everywhere from working (logging), honky tonkin (dancin), riding horses, funerals, I have even gotten married in them twice. I have had them resoled several
times over the years and plan on being buried in them.

I wear ostrich Ariat "Fat Baby" Boots all the time. They of course are tan. I wear Justin's to work in. They are a roanoak color w/ a good rubber sole. I wear black Justin's w/ a little bit of a pointed toe to dance in because the soles slide better on the dance floor. I used to wear a cowboy hat at times, but my hair was longer then. I cut my hair realy short and w/the hat it makes me look like a boy. I am letting it grow back out so that I can wear it. I am from OK, on the border of TX, so I am always country (even when country isn't cool). Sorry, I am sanging Barb Mandrel now.

I been wearing cowboy boots forever. I wear them to work, I wear them everywhere.
I happen to work at a place that I can wear boots and my jeans. I think they are very comfortable. I guess if you are not use to them they would not be comfortable
