Bush himself is a complete mediocrity who will be forgotten in 10 years. His administration, however, will be remembered for all that its actions have proven in the last 5 years:
That the ruling elite of twenty-first century US, an amazing country that at one point carried the great democratising ideas of the Enlightenment further than any other, was no longer capable of playing a progressive role anywhere in the world or even towards its own people.
The fact that the Democrats have shared the responsiblity for most of the government's actions in this period will also be their main legacy.
Maybe, hopefully, he'll be remembered as the guy who was in the Whitehouse when a mass movement to truly represent the people of America started to develop and become a real political force.

He'll go down as the a** the American people didn't elect, at least in the first election.
It was a family affair that he got elected.
Worst political speech maker ever.
Sorry economical plan, or not having one.
Just the worst president America has ever had, second place goes to his dad.....But at least his father actually served in the military, G.W. used it as a way to stay in the states.

Thank you Kerouac003. You said exactly what I was thinking but unable to put into words. I know a lot of people make fun of him and even I laugh at some of his "Bush-isms" , but I still think he is doing the best he can in this media controlled world we live in now

1. Civil Rights abuses are pretty much going to be up there with FDR's during WWII. He'll be criticized more, because it isn't remotely as desperate a time, let alone a parallel war.
2. A failed war of occupation with less of a reason than the domino theory.
3. As the only president to be elected by the Supreme Court.
4. He'll make John Quincy Adams look good.
5. He made the punks get all political again, they'd been sulking since Reagan.
6. And the best thing? The end of any Bush family member having a national political career. Stay home Jeb.

'bushisms.' the constant mess ups. i'm australian, and i seriously believe george has changed the world. he's amusing. and we can't forget 'great moments in presidential speeches' on letterman. oh, along with leading america into a highly unpopular war, causing further segregation/marginalisation of particular groups in western society, while also allowing australian prime minister john howard to 'satisfy' him. i'm certain that sales of the children's book, 'my pet goat', increased, along with 'the very hungry caterpillar', george's favourite childhood book...although it was published like one year after graduating college.
