They just charged me $490 in overdraft fees!!!!!!!!!! For less than $80 worth of purchases (mostly 4-5 dollar items)!!!!! I hate them so much. I am definitely switching banks. Tomorrow. There is no way I can afford that, any chance I will get them to cut this down a little? Do you have some strategies to use on the bank employees to make them consider forgiving some of these outrageous fees?

I don't write checks, these were debit card purchases. And I keep good records, it was supposed to be close, but I think one of my automatic payments ended up being more than it should have been. And my credit card is supposed to be attached to my account to prevent this from happening, but I guess they didn't do that when they were supposed to.

Banks cover large debits first, say you make several small purchases on Fri and a big one on Sat. You also deposit your check on Sat right before the bank closes. You think you are ok, and if you are lucky you are. But what is happening now is the banks are taking out the large debt first, then the small debt, then adding in deposits so that it forces you to pay overdraft fees on several different debits instead of just one. More money for them! I agree that the entire banking, lending industry needs to be brought back down to earth, to give the average Joe a break.

If you wrote a bunch of checks for less than $10 and
You didn't have $$$$ in the account ,
WHAT were you expecting ? Free Money ?
I don't write small checks and I NEVER would write them if the wasn't money in the account .
If evil means sending you an emphatic message that
Writing hot checks is a giant NO-NO ,
Then Yes , they are evil .
And so is most the planet on this one .
I am soooo positive that the merchants you wrote hot checks to ,
Would also like to wring your neck .
Grow up .

Was it their fault or yours? If it was your fault there is nothing you can do...you agreed to the charges. And, they aren't more that any other bank.
There really isn't any more floating of checks...most places process them right away...so it seems to me that you are spending money that you didn't have.
Now, if it is a matter of which one they processed first on the same day you have an argument to make.

Most banks are evil! Try talking to a manager at the branch you use and I'm sure they can work something out.

what's your source for this Libya stuff? besides our government became in touch via NATO, not today. We hate North Korea as properly, yet you probably did not point out them. exciting that (lower back, different than for Kim Jong Il) that they administration oil-wealthy countries, yet as any scientist will inform you, correlation isn't causation. we've the biggest oil reserves interior the international in this u . s . waiting for us to faucet into them, so oil probable does not have something to do with it. And as for why human beings rebelled against and finally killed customary Gaddafi? perhaps via fact everyone who went against him or maybe disagreed with him grew to become an unperson.

******* son of a bitches. Do you think lawyers are blood sucking scum bags ? Because they are the only ones that try to protect you from this kind of abuse. Big companies will then do massive press releases and advertising to convince you that lawyers makes things cost more and that they are just out to make a quick buck. Obviously pure bullshit. I feel for you, it makes me so ******* mad. If you are in California file a lawsuit in small claims, this is crystal clear unfair businesses practices under business and professions code section 17200. Write to your senators and representatives and tell them tort reform is bullshit and you want more consumer protection. I feel so mad for you, I think my blood pressure is about to give me a struck. Bank of America and most big business are go beyong evil, they are ******* greedy crooks. It is not business it is just ******* fraud. Sue the bastards.
