fall over backwards to endorse the Alternative Lifestyle practioner Jodie Fosters new movie showing her becoming a vigilante? They seem to love it when one of their own gets a gun and starts killing thugs who ruined her life...but let a common citizen, who prob votes against their narrow worldview try to own a gun to protect their home and family and they freak out....

Ive been a cop 16 years and I love the idea of an armed population...I also know the big names in the Democratic party are the big names in the anti gun movement...they live in each others bedrooms and purse strings....I said what i did about her in a nice way because she is a sexual deviant and thats one reason the left endorses her....

Great point!..well said...I cant answer it other than to ask if you remember what happened when Hanoi Janes and Teds ranch in Montana was robbed?...the officer arrived to find her with a .38 strapped on and the little pistol in her fist as she paced and bitc*ed..the officer asked "arent you against people owing guns?"..she replied"oh thats not for us"...same thing as here..as long as one of their darlings does it,its OK...I know its the Dems in the house and Senate that is leading the charge to ban and restrict gun ownership...thats big names and big anti gunners...pretty clear...Teddy and Schumer...Feinstein and Pelousy....

I don't mind gun ownership by people who will hunt or go to a shooting range... but random city dwellers having guns is just asking for an accident. If it was mandated by the government to take a gun safety class, target shooting class, and a few other handy lessons before being allowed to purchase a gun, I'd be all for everyone who qualified having a gun... as it stands now (well, back in 2002 when I bought my first hunting rifle), they only do a background check. It's kind of scary how many people are just allowed to have guns without any education. Homeschooling... I just don't understand why anyone would be against that with how horrible the public schools in America are these days. Students don't learn a whole lot in school because of stupid things like "no child gets left behind" which usually means, (in CA,) that the entire class is being slowed down for only one or two individuals who really should have been left back a grade or two. The Curriculum is too easy at most schools, history of the behavior of the US in foreign affairs is not told truthfully as in they leave out completely the US's role in placing Saddam Hussein in power and the many Massacres that took place in Vietnam and then covered up by Congressmen and others in the govt., and US students don't learn as much or as quickly as many other 1st world countries... so why would anyone not homeschool their children if they can afford to do so? All you need to do to have your children learn to behave around other children and adults is involve them in sports, dance, music, or 4-H. If I move back to the US (I am still a US citizen) I plan on homeschooling my child... with the help of a Hired Tutor for subjects that don't fall under the two degrees I am working on (European History and Biology) or the degrees that my husband has achieved. I do agree with others that too many ill educated adults are trying to teach their children and think it would be beneficial to require at least a BA of the parent before allowing them to be the sole teacher.

People with power fear others who may want to strip them of that power. If you are a cop, I am surprised you feel the way you do. If we all had guns eventually someone is going to strip you of your power for abusing your authority, just like one day we will strip the government down to basics and rebuild. You can't trust what you didn't build. As for guns protecting people, my guns scare people away, I can kill with a knife or a stick, a bat or a can of gas. Or even my bare hands. Guns don't kill people, highly trained and personally motivated people kill people. Criminals will always have acces to guns as long as they make them. They give them to criminals every day when they hire them as police, or allow them to enlist in the military. Gun ownership is about survival when things go wrong, and someday they will go wrong. Maybe not, but if they do in your life time, you'll not get dinner with those TV remote button pushing skills. A violent nature is animalistic survival instict. Eliminate the worst, enlist the rest.

Well, I guess I'll never learn the secret 'liberal' handshake or get the secret 'liberal' decoder ring now. I really don't care if somebody wants a gun, just as long as I don't have to get one (unless I want to).
Personally, I can't imagine that I'd really need a semi- or fully-automatic 'whatcha-ma-callit' and I'd have no problem with registering it. I'm not sure I'd want one to carry in my purse... maybe, maybe not. A class on how to use it safely might be nice. Are any of those things objectionable or 'show-stopper' issues for gun ownership? Or am I part of the 'liberal establishment' and just too gun-ignorant to realize it? I'm asking seriously because I really don't understand the big issue(s) on gun ownership and gun-control. Educate me, please??
LOL... after seeing some of these heated answers, I still don't feel I have any right to tell y'all you can't have a gun. But I sure as hell don't want to be around some of y'all if you've got one in your hands, waving it around while talking about gun control! Geez!! :-)

as a police officer, you might not have ever busted a real Liberal...they tend to be law abiding and might own a gun as well as anyone...just not a gun designed to hide in a purse or one designed to kill humans only.
I worked with a guy that was from an LA fire department and he showed me his guns...he was Conservative by the way...I was appalled that his collection was filled with glocks and laser sights...but he had no long range weapons tha could be considered a hunting or military type weapon. I am a liberal with shot guns and an assortment or rifles....but I own no hand gun.
I served in the army infantry, by the way.

Could you give me sources of "gun hating" liberals... I have never heard of any American politician asking for gun bans in recent history.... Is this even a issue anymore???? Giuliani was the last high profile politician that wanted stricter gun laws and that was like 10 years ago.... Please cite a source of proposed legislation (and the year)... I am not saying that you are lying but I havn't heard anything on this issue for years.

You don't understand, Jodie Foster is a woman and a woman has a right to protect her body, you're just a nihilistic, neo-con fascist, neo-con punk who thinks Hitler was great, you want to dig up Hitlers body and...
Oh man it's hard to keep that up...
Seriously man I have no idea, I didn't even know that liberals liked that movie my guess is that there's a big moment at the end where she realizes how horrible guns are and she goes on a crusade to have them banned.

and who's bending over backwards to endorse it? it's the first I've heard of it?
Yahoo runs ads for every movie?
you seem to be delusional and without fact?
EDIT: and why do conservatives say "great point" when it's just a bunch of crying about something that in no way seems to be special?

are you having a little trouble distinguishing reality from fantasy. You are talking about a movie. Did you realize that is NOT reality?????
You really have no idea what a Liberal is. Liberals actually do own guns. What they do want is "gun control" so that people that confuse movies with reality aren't allowed to purchase guns.
