i now the patriots are cheating since way back because since when they played the raiders in the afc chamionship in 01 when they called it was incomplete pass when it was a fumble. and then the eagles coach said they were going to blitz to knock off brady but each time they blitz they played a screen play. i think the right punsihment is to suspend the head coach forever and they should not take the super bowl trophie from them but take thier rings away. thats what ishould do

While I agree with you that the Bill B. and the patriot's organization has been cheating since way back
(Supposedly Bill B. has been doing this for a long time, dating back to when he was coach of the browns (source- http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/07255/816713-66.stm ), I have to disagree with the taking away of the rings. I doubt that the players knew what was going on (with the possible exception of Tom Brady), as it is the coaches that call the plays so why punish the players when you can make an example out of the coach.

I do think that the NFL did go too easy on them though.

I personally think that the NFL should have taken the 1st and 2nd round draft pick(s) in the next draft,
There should have been a fine,
and Bill B. should be temporarally suspended for 6 games and He should be banned from the Pro Football Hall of Fame for life.

With the possible addition of astericks being put beside mentions of their championships under Bill B. to denote them as being tainted.

(Note:Pete Rose was banned from MLB Hall of Fame for life for cheating, and in my opinion gambling on games that you are not playing in is not as bad as trying to cheat in the games that you are playing.)

If commisioner Gooddell wants to clean up the NFL, he has to start with the coaches and give them sterner penalties than the players.

It's just ironic that Bellichecks' former assistent Eric Mangini (who now coaches the Jets) was the one who busted him for it. Do you think Mangini knew Bill B.'s tricks?

Cheating is as old as sports. It has just gotten more technological. After all taking second while a pitcher is pitching is not called STEALING for nothing. Throwing a curve ball I suspect was considered cheating at one time. I think the Patriots just got better at it. It was bound to happen.

Haha very funny. This whole spy thing has only been going on for a little while. I dont think it's nearly a big a deal as it's made out to be. The Patriots dynasty is not tainted, just Belechick's legacy. If the NFL would stop being stupid and allow a player on defense to have headset communication with the coach on the sideline like the QB on offense does, this situation would not even happen. The spying incident didnt affect the game against the Jets and it was not involved in any game during the Patriots Super Bowl dynasty.

Dynasty, Derek? LOL.

A DYNASTY would be the Green Bay Packers, San Francisco 49'ers, Dallas Cowboys or Pittsburgh Steelers. That is all.

your right they should forever be remembered as cheaters and your right it has been going on for a long time the penalty for what they did was little more than a slap on the wrist the nfl is turning into a joke thanks to the patsies

This has nothing to do with the integrity of the organization...They are still the best team in the NFL...Get over yourself...Belichick was wrong in doing it, and the NFL dealt with it...This was an NFL rule violation...not a Vick felony...Get on with your worthless life...
