You don't have to lay down with your butt in the air for 30 minutes unless you want to. Sperm usually enter the cervix (or begin to) within minutes of ejaculation. The stuff that comes out after sex is your own lube and yes, a little ejaculate, but the little swimmers are usually safely stuck to the cervix within a few mintues.

If you are talking about sperm, lay down for about 1/2 hour after sex. you can put a pillow under your tailbone in order to help gravity keep it in or even stand on your head in the bed. Yes I have done both. But in all reality his semen will still come out, but that doesn't mean that the sperm are coming out. When he ejaculates in you most of the sperm are inside your cervix within seconds, the other stuff is just semen. But avoid getting up right after and this will avoid some of the mess and have a towel ready, I have been explained this by a fertility specialist.

I thought the same thing when my husband and i were trying. We just did it then i did whatever i wanted after, no legs in the air or any bull**** like that. If i wanted to get up and walk around i did, some came out of course but i tried not to worry about it as, i knew some it does comeout anyway.
Some of it will comeout but thats manly semen not sperm, only the already dead sperm will come back out and the live ones will swim very quickly in the right direction so don't worry if u think heaps is coming out enough is in there to get u pregnant so don't bother trying to keep it in!
If your doing it at the right time of the month/cycle you'll get pregnant, just be patient and try not to think about it! lol
Hope all that makes sense and that i've help u somewhat!
Good luck! Lots of baby dust to u!

Just lie still for about twenty minutes after sex. Some will come out. That is normal. Just put a pillow under your butt and lie still. It don't need much help to get where it is going when the time is right. Best Wishes to you.

I'm just starting this month to ttc & I have been reading a lot, and I mean A LOT...lol.
One thing I read was~ to keep semen in you should try closing and cupping the lips of your vagina with your hand, laying still and elevating your hips with a pillow (i'm trying this) I'll let you know if it works lol

Lay on your back and place a pillow under your behind. This will help to keep the...eh...fertilizers in a little longer. Conceiving takes several tries. You must understand that over half of the sperm DIE on the way to the egg.
Best of luck.

I didn't lie down after words and I still got pregnant even though stuff came back out. Maybe your timing is a little off with when you should be ovulating. webmd.com has charts and stuff to help you find your perfect timing. Have you tried this? I knew I was ovulating and it worked. Good Luck.

I think that even if some of his *stuff* comes out of you that some of it will stay inside.I suppose that is the way it works, otherwise we would all be standing on our heads trying to have babies.LOL!
