I'm not a church-going person, and I don't go to bars or clubs. There's also not a lot going on in my small town as far as events and places to meet new people with common interests.
Further more, most of my town, and county is LDS, and I am
not, which further complicates things, due to the difference in basic ideas on life, morals, etc. Any ideas on how to meet people who are more like me?

Move or convert. I love Mormons as individuals, but unless you are willing to convert they will have nothing to do with you beyond school, work, or community relations.

My grand-dad used to say "If you are looking for trout and there are only bass in the lake, it's time to find a new lake."

I've moved around a lot in the past few years. I'm married so I wasn't out looking for love...but outside of the people I worked with, I needed some outlet for fun. I volunteered with a ski center for the handicapped, started hanging out at the climbing gym, and would sometimes drive an hour or so to go on outings with other hiking or kayaking clubs not close to where I lived. I met a lot of great people as well.

If you can't move, you may have to travel. If you are looking for romance with a non-Morman and all of the hobby clubs that you are interested in also happen to be populated by the Saints, well that might be something you have to deal with.

Then there is always the online services. I'm relatively new to where I live now and I've used the web, MySpace, message boards and Yahoo Groups to find other people into my hobbies. It's more work, but I've had some success finding people who are into the same stuff as me.

Good Luck!

I would go to a bar or club. you don't have to drink, just go to have a good time and you could meet plenty of people. Its not like you would be doing anything wrong.
An never go to church, NEVER! especially if you want to meet people.

Get involved in activities and groups in the nearest large city to you. Larger cities are more diverse in the people that live there.
