Because they think that sex is a 'wifely duty' and that the wife owes the man sex. These type of men are just as bad as the common rapist and deserve to be thrown in prison with the rest of them.

Let me clarify what Bob is saying. What he is talking about has nothing to do with rape at all. If you enter into a marriage, sex is an important part and should be discussed before walking down the aisle. If it's good, its 10% of the marriage, and if its bad it's 90%.
I didn't see the Oprah show, but apparently the situation was men having sex with their wives against their will. This is wrong, controlling and evil, no rational for doing that inder any circusmstances.

Men have been getting away with rape since day began. They think when they marry us we become their property they can do what they want with us physically and mentally and over the years it can brake some women down and have them thinking that it's their husbands God giving right to do what they want with you and because some women become so mentally weak their husbands get away with this.Their husbands believe that there is no such thing as raping your wife. Not all men are like this I'm talking about the bullies the ones who think they own you body and soul, you men know who I'm talking about.

Because they think it is their right, but mostly because it is the only way they can completely control their woman, even if only for as long as the act takes. It isn't ignorance or lack of consideration for someone else's feelings: it is a calculated action of dominance and violence.

There is some talk about unity and being as one. Actually the Bible says that a husband and wife's body are not their own, and that their bodies should be used as a comfort to one another. HOWEVER, men who rape their wives probably don't live by Bible principles! They take what they want and that's it, and it isn't right!

That is truly awful..in fact I think it would be more devastating to be raped by the man you trust as your soulmate than a random criminal.
EDIT: Bob S..do you realize that not every marriage is done within a Christian ceremony? We have a SEPARATION of church and state. And even if it is a Christian wedding not everyone interprets each verse as you do. NO means NO!! You are regarding rape as acceptable, how are you not ashamed of yourself????

I think it's because once a man marries a woman he thinks he is entitled to sex on demand. Men also don't know what it feels like to be a woman. Sex probably always feels good to a man, but the same cannot be said for women. Sometimes sex is very painful for women and men cannot understand this.

Because apparently some portion of the marriage vows ( the part a MAN speaks ) is secretly coded to imply that he owns you and you are obligated to perform on demand......and the vows of the woman apparently agree ( again.....this is a secret code in-bedded in the vows which woman cannot hear or understand........this way we dont know we have agreed to it )

As soon as a women - married or not - says "no", that's as far as it goes. Anything beyond "no" is rape.
Some guys don't accept that. They are rapists. Plain and simple.
If it ever happens to you, don't allow it to occur ever again. Call the police.
