My wife just bought my son a computer for his 10th birthday. She bought him a HP with a 1 terabyte hard drive, 4 gigabites of ram and a 3.0 gigahertz processor. I dont know much about computers. How much did you think she spent? Was it a lot?

Thats a really good configuration. It must have cost quite a bit. Approx $2000+ depending on the rest of the config.

Not enough info....you say 4 gigs of memory. What kind of memory ddr, ddr2, ddr3. 400mghz, 533 mghz 800 mghz. They all cost different. Is it a celeron or a pentinum D? A terbyte hdd costs about $400. If your new computer is low end, then I'd say about $700.00

You crazy???
Give a 10 year old a computer that powerful?!?

A child would be more interested in simple web games and listening to music, not video encoding and first person shooters.

Tell your wife she just wasted about $3000.
