How totally pathetic. I have now officially lost all respect for this man - and by extension this Patriots team.

To eightmilechamp: Of course I know what the rule says. Every news article in the last 3 days has quoted the rule ver batim. Even a moron understands that NO VIDEO TAPING OF OPPONENTS SIGNALS IS ALLOWED. Billicheck is a CHEATER.

I wouldn't exactly say it's tainted.
Look at last years AFC Championship game against the Colts. . .and you would see that the Colt's just out played the Patriots the entire second half. Now if the Patriots were "cheating" they would have stopped the Colt's from coming back and winning the game and then would have won Super Bowl number four in five years.
As for the other Super Bowls they were CLEARLY better than the Eagles defensively, and the Panthers offensively outside of Steve Smith.
The Ram's Super Bowl came down to a kick, so you can see in all three Super Bowl's they didn't need to cheat.
I'm a hardcore Buffalo Bills fan so I am not backing the Pats whatsoever, but this is far from tainted.

I heard today that some other teams had complained to the league that something wasn't right. An assistant had been caught several times videotaping on the opposing teams sidelines. The NFL sent a letter to the Patriots spelling out the rule and emphasizing that the spying would not be tolerated. They did it anyway. I don't see how he can incorrectly interpret a rule when he received a letter from the league explaining it. They're cheaters and got caught.

Every team try to find an edge to win against another team, but unfortunately the Patriots coach got's his hand caught in the cookies jaw. Now he must pay his dues for cheating, i guess if your not cheating, your not trying lol. Bill the Duchebag coach made the New England Patriots look like a bad cheating organization, now peoples only associates the Patriots with the cheating scandal not the 3 super bowl championship and that sad.

ESPN reported that it wasn't videotape, but a regular (digital?)camera. Pretty elaborate ordeal. Guy would take pictures of signals and take them to guys in the booth. They would watch game footage from first half and match up the signals with the plays and print up a cheat sheet for the second half.

Hmmm, the receivers always do seem shockingly wide open for the Patriots. This is pathetic, a complete disgrace. I bet this happens most weeks and playoff time. 3 Superbowls in 4 years? hmmm....

He thought there was a grey area, and found out there wasn't...He got fined for it...I don't agree with what he did either...but he is still the best coach in the NFL, and this isn't like he's Michael Vick or something...It was an NFL rule violation, not a federal offense...and the NFL dealt with it...Get a grip and move on with your sad life...
and bluebase24, get it right between Belichick and Mangini...Belichick is the reason the little weasel Mangini is a Head Coach...and Mangini is the one that refused to shake Belichick's hand, not the other way around...

all i can say is Belichick is a modern professional sports version of Richard Nixon. I've never liked Belichick and never will. I use to respect him though, but those days are longggg gone. Going back to last year when he refused to shake Mangini's hand after the Jets beat him.

He was a complete douchebag before he got caught, he's being a complete douchebag now. It's sad, I used to like the Pats but his attitude wore me down. Now I'm not even surprised by any of this.
