Great question.
I believe that evolutionary logic and principles apply when processes are naturally taking place. Due to his intellect, the human being is intercepting these natural processes more and more as time goes on. Our penchant to control Nature rather than adapt to it means that we are blocking the natural evolution process to progress normally. Natural evolution has the in-built logic of survival in changing circumstances and environment. This process is the most efficient and substantive, but unfortunately highly time consuming. In our impatience, we are interfering with this long drawn process with out intellect driven short-cuts. As a result, we are obtaining better today which unfortunately is more than likely to lead to a worse tomorrow. This implies that due to application of our intellect to get short-term quick solutions, we are jeopardizing the future security... in other words, we are preempting the natural evolution process through technology etc., thereby taking a great risk in terms of future survival.... the current state of collective madness may well be the indication that we are evolving unnaturally and therefore, in effect, devolving rather than evolving.
Well, that is just my view for what it may be worth.

The question is problematic.
Evolutionary logic is simply the principal that bad changes get eliminated.
And the term "current collective state of human madness" implies we have, socially speaking, changed for the worse.
So, it's like asking "Is there any evolutionary logic behind bad mutations?"
The answer is no, though bad mutations are certainly part of the process.
If indeed we are mad, Evolution will eliminate us in short order.
If however you feel human madness has been evolving over the millennia, there's a good chance you misunderstand both madness and Evolution.

Yes and i see it as a point where human rage are formed after a concluded action has been made. Let us take a look on what happened to the 9/11 tragic event. Human madness was in a holistic view against terrorism. Human madness has evolve from that action and there is a reason for it. There lies in it the evoving issues as to how men will address terrorism. Clearly, there is a manifestation on the underlying logic from the collective human madness you are talking.
Tough question you git.

What an interesting question. I would guess that it's part of social bonding and communication, like you find with other animals. Other animals participate in their own music-making. Consider wolves, whales, birds, and so on. Song in animals can do everything from mark territory and let others know where you are to reassure fellow group members that everything is OK. When things are not OK, animals stop "singing" and either fall silent or make different sounds that indicate danger. I think there are some real parallels in human life. Everything from ethnic music to the music of a particular generation can play a part in both social bonding and group comfort. Because of our big brains, humans have taken music beyond these initial purposes, but I think those were the original functions that are still with us today.

It's definitely a self induced state of madness, but I'd hardly say it's collective. Being bi-polar is an evolutionary manifestation to deal with the contradictions in the world and issues of multi-tasking / becoming a robot for the sole purpose of satisfying the economic wants of your boss.

Like a lotus emerge from mud, spiritual evolution has to spring from the collective madness, of course not for everyone; only for those who are ripe or ready.

Self awareness and desire. The creation of the id by man. We can see into the future and that future is only death. This is very difficult for the mind to grasp and often drives persons into madness. This is one reason that people often fall into despair and madness late in their lives.

Yes, we have limited territories and resources. We live in packs to strengthen and protect our families. We do what we want and push other packs out of the territories we want. We invent new stories about our god in which he says to us,"take that territory for your own, and kill those who resist."

You imply that there is a confirmed state of human madness.
I might disagree... so would many other people who simply recognize karma.
