The last time I went to the doctor, he said I would be seeing a slight decrease because the baby's room is not as big as it used to be. But right now, and all day, I've felt him here and there..No kicks..Sometimes a little movement like he's turning. but nothing big at all. I hate to be the woman calling the doctors office 1000x but I do want to be sure this is not a cause for alarm. Any suggestions before I call?

Oh I did a kick count and laid there for about 45 minutes and felt 3 distinctive moves.

I had the same thing and it scared the crap out of me but when I gave birth and saw how big my baby was I understood--they literally don't have room to move around much. He's probably just fine, and getting nice and big for the big day--good luck. And don't hesitate to call, even if it's 1000 times--we all do and they expect that. It's their job to calm you down.

I am 35 weeks preggo so I know what you are going through. Try some Mountain Dew, lay on your side and count kicks again. Now if you feel your baby move a least ten times everything is good. You count the rolling over, kicking, any little movement at all. Even if he punches 5 times in a row you count that as 5. I am currently having the same problem, the baby gets cramped in there. But do not be alarmed. When you are doing things your baby is more apt to rest at this point. But the longer you lay and especially if you drink Mountain Dew before you lay and count, the more apt they are to moving. I read that they are more apt to sleep or rest when you move now because they are being lulled to sleep where as when you are resting they are like Woohoo. Haha. I know that sounds funny but I am with you on this. If mountain dew doesn't do the trick call the doc. because though orange juice and other drinks of that kind will work, the dew will get him going faster so you can make sure he is good. This advice came from many preggo friends of mine, even my doc.

There is at least some movement at least and there is a heart beat so try not to worry too much, however if the midwife advised u to call the hospital then what r u waiting for? Never mind whether u feel silly about it or not,how wld u feel if there was something wrong but because u felt "silly" u chose not to bother. I completely understand that oh i wont ask cos i feel silly feeling i had it throughout my pregnancy too and i worried myself unduly if the baby was quieter than normal especially around the stage ur partner is at. I often woke up in the morning and wld sit there in bed waiting for him to do something b4 i wld get up!!!! I also found that if i was stressed he moved much less, there is no pattern to his movements either some quiet days and some days where it feels like he doesnt stop for a minute. All babies r different tho my friend has been having scans every week almost cos she has a very lazy baby who doesnt move much at all. Plz plz plz get an appointment for the hosp or call ur midwife and tell her she shld b arranging that for u,they'll do another scan and it will put both of u at ease. Try to relax a bit and help ur partner do the same I'm now 2 days overdue and it does get harder towards the end physically emotionally and mentally, the very best of luck to u both x

It's getting cramped in there. The baby can't freely move quite as easy as the earlier months. Also, babies start to form a distinctive sleep/awake pattern at around 28-32 weeks. My doctor always suggested a kick count twice a day. When I got really worried, they suggested a glass of Coke and laying down on my side (I think right but can't remember) If you are feeling movement, chances are the baby is fine. If you get too worried you can always go to the hospital or doctors office and let them hook you up to the monitor for reassurance :)

Never be too shy to call the dr when it's about your baby. (I'm that lady too...)

But they really do slow down at this point in time, and it does get more noticable in the daytime especially. When you're up and around you kind of rock the baby to sleep and most babies rest during the day. If you aren't having any other symptoms that tell you something may be wrong, everything is probably fine.

As long as you feel him sometimes, and can wake him up a little it's fine. I think3 moves in 45 minutes is perfectly fine. (God, that makes me miss being pregnant! My kids are 10, 12 & 14. It honestly feels like it's only been a couple of years.) Don't stress yourself out, that isn't healthy for either of you...But, if you feel the need to call the Nurse, do it.

Did you try some orange juice? I know with my last child, I didnt feel a lot of kicks near the end but as long as you feel the baby moving around, I wouldnt worry to much.

I'm also 34 weeks, and I noticed the same thing last weekend- he didn't move hardly at all and I was scared to death. but the truth is, they are starting to run out of room, it actually gets uncomfortable for them to romp around the way they used to. no need to worry, your little one will probably be squirming again soon, mine sure did after a couple days, it was actaully painful for me when he kicked. You're fine!

sounds normal.

i had the same thing happen at about 37 weeks, so the doctor just did another ultrasound to check for movement and check the amount of fluid around the baby. everything was OK.

at your next appointment, maybe you could ask for this just to be reassured.

its sounds pretty normal, but keep an eye on it. He's running out of room, and cant wind up for a big kick anymore. As long as you keep doing your kick counts you will be reassured.
