Donna Summer/The queen of Disco did a disco version of Could it be Magic and went top of the charts but I'm a Fanilow and I stick with the original.

Well, I'm a Barry Manilow fan, and Donna Summer did do a great version of that song. She even sang it with him in concert at Carnegie Hall back in the 90's and it was great. I think that's the one you are thinking of.

In the UK there's a group call "Take That" that also did a remake of that song. Barry liked it so much that he bagan doing a similar version in concert. And yes, it's considered "disco" as well. In a special version of his new album Greatest Hits of the 70s there's a bonus disc that contains a great "disco" version of CIBM along with some other Manilow songs that he recorded acoustic versions of.

Well, Donna Summer had a competing version of that song which came out in the mid-1970s. I know Barry Manilow fans might not like this but I like her version better than his.

If by disco, you actually mean "club music" rather than 70s disco, you may be looking for the one by "Leona".
