No I think now is a great time as a rule to be thinking about and buying Christmas gifts for people. If you wait until after Thanksgiving it is a mad rush in the malls and so on. So I see people buying Christmas gifts as early as June. It makes the holidays so much more pleasant if one is not stressed out trying to think of and go out and get a gift. I do think that the malls and book stores and so on need to take a step back. I mean last year there was Christmas displays and stuff out right after Halloween. I love Christmas it is my favorite time of the year. All the decorations and all, but come on, lets enjoy Thanksgiving first. I say they should put their displays and decorations up about two weeks before Thanksgiving and no sooner. It kinda takes away from the Christmas mood and stuff when the day after Halloween, you see all the Christmas decorations and ads and even music. I think for things like Avon it's find to be having it available now. Just not at malls and places like that. =)

This is the perfect time to start doing your big sells for christmas. This will get everyone thinking early for what they want to buy & to even get some of the small things out of the way before all the holidays hit all at the same time. Thanksgiving & Christmas are SO close together that it becomes very stressful & becomes a mad rush for everyone so I think that this is a PERFECT time to show all the perfect items that AVON has in store!

my family and i buy all year round. if you see something on sale or something that someone would like pick it up. its much better than to go 2 weeks before Christmas with a limited amount of money and trying to find stuff to buy for everyone and trying to stay within you budget. you never know when money problems could spring up. right now many people are in a bind and when Christmas comes its going to be worse. although we do buy the majority of the gifts in November and December. at work we have a Christmas fund. 10 dollars out of your check every week is taken out and put into a separate fund and a few weeks before Christmas they give you a check for however much money you have in your fund. that is also a great help.

Hi Moni.
I didn't realise Avon had already started offering christmas presents. I haven't got a new book yet. My avon lady is called Donna. She hasn't brought me a book yet, which is a shame as I loved last years christmas avon stuff.
I started buying in august. I bought a few presents from amazon.co.uk, a few from the studio cards catalogue, and for my cousin, who loves pink and excersise I bought that pink digital twist and tone from the avon book.
Keep up the good work moni!

I guess I am cheap. I shop year-round and buy things while they are on sale. I am 'Santa Claus' for my whole family. Everyone gives me money to buy their children presents to open at my grandpa's house. If there is a good deal, I am there. I want to be able to get the kids as many things as possible on $20 (per child). Some of them don't have very much and a few of my cousin can't afford the $20 so I pick up a few extra things for them too. The rest of my family picks up the tab. However, I don't think Christmas songs and lights should happen until at least Thanksgiving. Good question!!!

UMMMM I'm a little weird, but I have 3 more gifts to buy and I'm done for this years shopping. When I see the perfect gift I buy it and tuck it away.
I will of course pick up little odds and ends for the kids until Christmas Eve but even their big gifts are bought.
The best sales aren't at Christmas time. And I wouldn't be caught dead NEAR the malls on Black Friday. This way my gift buying is spread out over the year and I don't rack up credit card bills.

As soon as the Sears Wish Book comes out, I start looking for gift ideas, but I don't think I've actually purchased anything in September.
October is the earliest that I've purchased something so far and I tend to try and get my shopping done in November if I can.
I do usually go shopping once in December if only to experience the Christmas atmosphere.

I have already started planning some of my Christmas gifts for people. I shop year-round for gifts - this way I'm not stressed at the last minute to find the 'perfect' gift for someone, and I don't feel like my budget is stressed right around the holidays. A lot of times if I travel somewhere, I'll get a gift for someone then save it for a special occasion.

I don't think many people do shop this early but I tend to start in the month of July, because our family is large and I like to get others out of the way early in order to concentrate more on my immediate family & loved ones.I think Oct. is early enough to begin the commercialism of Christmas as it is,but I do understand the marketing angle as well.Good luck in your sales this Holiday!
