If you eat hamburger meat too fast, it may cause hiccups.

Sure. And so can anything else you have to swallow, including water. The substance itself doesn't have anything to do with it. If you wolf it down like a pig and swallow too much at once, I would think thicker denser foods like hamburger would be more likely to cause the muscle spasms known as hiccups

I don't think so, I never eat hamburger and I still get the hiccups.

hiccups are caused when the diaphragm is brought out of whack due to drinking too quickly or scarfing down food. It doesn't matter what food you've eaten, if you eat it too fast the chances are you will get the hiccups

Swallowing too much air too fast can cause hiccups. When you gulp a hamburger, or ANY food, too much air can be swallowed, and hiccups can follow.

My little girl gets hiccups every time she laughs. ;)

Yes, it can sometimes. It depends on how fast you eat them.

I get hiccups from french fries more though.

Yeah,and i'll tell you how to get rid of them instantly i learned this yrs ago,eat a teespoon of peanut butter,i'm telling you it works every time,people don't believe me until they try it,i'm talking instanly no more hic ups.It has something to do with the acid in it and the acid in your stomach.
