If you are only smoking 10 cigarettes a day, you are probably not PHYSICALLY addicted, but you are most definitely EMOTIONALLY addicted to cigarettes. Anxiety, panic attacks, depression... That's an emotional problem. The issue you need to answer is WHY you emotionally NEED cigarettes. Somehow the cigarettes are allowing you to deal with emotional and stressful situations in your life. Your first step is to find a better way to deal with stress. Maybe it's exercise, deep breathing, discussing what's going on in your life with a counselor/friend... whatever. Once you have a handle on your mental health, quitting cigarettes will be a breeze. Edit: Sorry, I stand by my statement. You may indeed WANT a cigarette right now, but the craving is more in your head than it is a physical need for it. Studies have shown over and over... that the emotional need is FAR stronger than the physical... especially at the low dose you are getting.

We've had the smoking ban in Scotland for about a year and a half and I've cut down considerably.

I don't live in the UK and I don't know when the smoking ban started, but I quit smoking 6 mos. ago because my foster son came to me and said "your going to be dead before I turn 12 if you keep doing that" and my brother is battling lung cancer as well.....

I do not live in the UK but I did quit smoking in March of this year. I used that new pill called Chantix. It worked for me. (On the down side....I have gained some weight but it beats smoking!!!!!)

I had no idea a smoking ban was in effect in the U.K.

I'm in the USA and this is the 3rd time that I've quit.

You tend to smoke a little less when your out. But other than that nothings really changed.

The legal age to buy cigarettes is going up to 18 in october. That will be fun. Luckily i turn 18 on sunday :0)
