i saw several articles saying it is and a documentary on the history channel

how do you know the goverment didnt invent the museum to play of the hoax?

My father and uncle were in WW II and the stories that they later told us about coming across a camp of walking skeletons was about the worse horror story a teenager could hear.

It was during the Viet Nam era when I was talking to my father about the way our soldiers were being treated as POW's when he told my brothers and I about his experiences. My uncle wouldn't talk too much about it as he had watch several of his friends get blown up or shot in half right in front of him. It pained my uncle to talk about it. At the same time I had learned about the Bataan March.

As long as I'm alive, my children and grandchildren will be taught that the Holocaust is NOT and hoax.

A hoax what the heck is wrong with you? No it wasn’t a hoax, the fact you think so is very sad. My mother has been to one of the actual holocaust camps, that they allow people to tour or at least did at the time mind you this was over 20 years ago that she was there. As my father was station in Germany at the time. After actual being there she can no longer even go to any holocaust museums. Shame on you for even thinking such a thing! I very much doubt that the history channel aired anything saying the Holocaust was hoax. If anything was touched on it I’m sure they were simple talking about uneducated people like yourself who think it was hoax.

Although only relatively few fringe groups, propagandists, and pseudo-scholars embrace Holocaust denial, their activity is increasing and the potential for their influence to grow is evident. Therefore, it is incumbent upon all Holocaust survivors, historians, and those sincere chroniclers of the Holocaust to inform the world of the truth before the peoples around the world potentially fall prey, over time, to collective amnesia and adopt a romantic mythical view of the past events.
Denying the fact that the Holocaust occurred makes about as much sense as claiming that the earth is flat. It was the meticulous Nazis themselves who produced a large portion of the documents now available to anyone who desires to peruse them. They all point to the deniers' hypocrisy and make it plain that their claim to a "Holocaust hoax" is an unmitigated farce. Furthermore, contrary to the deniers' assertions, Hitler was fully aware of and did, in fact, order the annihilation of the European Jews. The facts of the Holocaust are so well documented in serious scholarly accounts that denial of Hitler's responsibility for the murder of the Jews is too preposterous to require refutation and argument.

That ranks up there with the fake moon landing and the "inside job" on 9-11 as some of the looniest ideas around. No, it was not a hoax, it was real.

It is overplayed by simple minded analysts who want to make it the focus of all evil in the world. Stalin's purges dwarfed the holocaust in sheer numbers of people killed. Pol Pot's Cambodia, the Cultural Revolution in China, the Armenian Genocide, various genocides in Africa are all just as horrific. There is a bit of holier-than-thou victim psychology behind the Jews' need to make the holocaust the worst incident in history. It wasn't.

Documentaries need not be true (think anything Michael Moore has done). It happened. What is questioned is the numbers dead since the Jewish population in/from Europe actually increased during WWII. The final numbers, as is often true in stories written by the victor (history), have probably been inflated for propaganda purposes but there is no doubt that the Nazis made a strong attempt to wipe out Jewry in Europe.

Hoax?...go ask the Germans in Germany if it was a Hoax,..but be careful they are very tempermental about the subject,..you need to read more "real History",.. and stop buzzing the "conspiracy theories websites so much".., or go back to school,.no wait,..you may be better off...doing the research yourself..as these days,,,what pass,s for knowledge in public school systems,.is what is termed political

The tattoos on my great grandparents arms were not a hoax!! it was very real....the few survivors that are still around can not act that well....their tears are real. it is ignorant and very disrespectful to say something so tragic could have been a hoax. I know its not you saying it but im saying this as a general statement. My Great Grandparents directly in the holocaust i saw all the photos and ID tats.

No. Why don't you talk to a survivor of it or a family member of someone who died in it? When you, Rosie O'Donnell, Jimmy Carter, Mahmoud Ahmedinejhad (the president of Iran), and others question the existence of the Holocaust, you are ignorantly disrespecting those who experienced it and had to go through it. Why don't you watch the hundreds of documentaries that provide the truth of the Holocaust?

And I saw the Holocaust Museum in DC, and smelled the dirt and mold and flesh-smoke still hanging on the shoes, and saw the Holocaust exhibit at Expo '67, and talked to the elderly people with J-###### tattoos on their wrists walking the halls of the Jewish Geriatric Center all night every night because sleep meant nightmares.... Denial is a disease. History forgotten is doomed to repeat itself.

No it was not. It is very well documented including horrific documentary film shot at the time, many books by people who lived through it and there are still holocaust survivors alive today.
