yes, pets. but ultimately after the pets and family I would go for the family Bible. as many photo albums as I could find and carry. the vhs video home movies of Christmas's past with my mother, who is gone now. my stamp collection, frivolous perhaps, but always something I could sell for a few bucks! A dozen books, whatever I grabbed off the shelf. You need comforting friends when you've lost everything else and my books are like that for me. My blankets: one, I crocheted myself with only a little instruction from my sister. It's wobbly edges and uneven size are nothing but a testament to the fact that I finished it at all. And one was made for me around age 4,5 by my auntie and it always means home to me. I used to take it on overnight trips with me whenever i left home. :) Oh, I'd try and remember my organizer address book of course. I still have old fashioned pen pals and losing their addresses would be a big loss for me. Also the photos and diary of my first trip to England. I'll always remember, but it's the little mementos you can't get back. There's also a ceramics set from Great grandma I'd like to save. I think it's a sugar bowl and a lemon bowl with a little tray, but I don't really know their function. They could be items for a ladies' dressing table I never figured that out. And a statue of a Mexican stallion (yes, a HORSE) Grandma left me. I don't know where she got it or how, but it is a lovely ceramic art piece at any rate.

WOOO, that's a slow burning fire to get all that stuff out and still pack a backpack with clothing too! haha.

Assuming my pets and family are all safe, I would grab the photo albums, because pictures are nearly irreplacable, and any family videos.

First my kid, husband and dog, then an heirloom cameo from my g-g-grandmother, and all the photo albums I could carry.
