She is younger than you. No matter what rivalry or jealously exists, An elder brother ALWAYS protects a younger sibling!

Because Brothers and Sisters should look out for each other. I am 24 and I am the youngest out of six siblings, but I sometimes look after my elder brothers and sisters.
E.g. Lend them money, help move house, babysit for their kids and so on....
You might need her help one day, so be nice!

maybe your mom knows something that you dont but doesnt want to worry you about it. i know that you do have alot of trouble in south africa, so this may be the reason why.
