1. Walk in pairs, especially at night, ALWAYS
2. Stay semi-sober
3. Do not leave your drink unattended
4. Change your number
5. Be alert to your surroundings
Know that it was probably a random call or a call meant to scare you to get someone else's kicks. Calling campus police was a good move.
The world is a wonderful and horrible place. Enjoy the first and prepare for the other. Keep your power. Don't let the moron who called make you feel scared. He should be scared, since you acted and it is likely that he will soon be facing charges. Good luck. Hope it is a lame prank and nothing more. The ones who call scare me less than the ones who stalk you on your way home. Watch for those.

That is a little scary! People are whacked out of their heads these days. I'm sure everything will be OK. it's good that you called the police. Can you get caller Id? and like the one answer said don't go alone anywhere. Hey! Why don't you and your roomie take a women's self defense class together? I really hope that it's just one of your friends messing with you. Take care Honey! I hope your feeling better and getting plenty of rest.

Since you haven't described the message it's hard to tell what this person's intentions were. It's probably some kid making a bad joke, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Be careful about who you give your personal information to. Make sure you log out of your email and close the browser window after using campus computers. Vary your route to and from classes. Try to travel with a buddy, and just be aware of your surroundings. Don't panic though. Just make sure you follow up with the police. Be safe.

Until the police check into the point of origin of the call, it would be a good idea to stay with friends, or have extra friends stay with you.
Be careful, and don't go anywhere alone. Most of the creeps who do crap like that just want the thrill of scaring you half to death. But there are a few who are dangerous. Becareful. Make sure you have good locks on the doors and bars on the windows.
Good Luck,
Doc

Make sure you guys keep bugging the police about this incident or they may just lay it aside and forget about it. Have all your parents keep calling them too! Make sure a trusted school personnel also knows about it so they stay on top of it! Good luck! I'll say a prayer for you all.

just to be on the side of caution try getting your number changed and be sure to keep your doors and windows locked. depending on what the man said he may have called you by mistake....if your going out be sure to use the buddy system and make sure someone else knows where your going.....
and by the way many people are very messed up!!!!

Make sure you keep your doors and windows locked at night and always try to go out in pairs. I am sure it is just some jerk trying to scare you but it is better to be safe than sorry.

Just be as cautious as possible. Don't go out by yourself alone especially at night. Most important of all, PRAY!
