I, not knowing this man or anything about him and his intentions, cannot fully judge him but honestly, what can a 23 year old guy have in common with a 16 year old girl? He probably parties and drinks and sleeps around while your sister is still in highschool and probably focusing more on her education than getting mixed into that crowd. I personally think he has far worse intentions than just "hanging out" with her

As the old saying goes 16 will get you 20. The only way I am friends with anyone under age is in social settings where there is other adults around who know me to witness that nothing has happened. Being disabled I clean our church as it gives me something to do. When this young girl heard that my daughter decided not to help me any more. She wanted to help me. I told that as much as I would like that it wouldn't be a good idea for us to be alone cleaning even though I wouldn't think of doing any thing. Someone may think different and accuse me of doing something with her. Yes we are friends and I like her and we get along, but I always make sure there are people who can see whats going on. If this guy isn't guarding himself and is spending time alone. Its a good bet that accusations against him will be made or found out. Because this man is spending time alone with your sister I would contact the police and report possible goings on. He may even be buying her alcohol which is contributing to a minor. Personally if a guy is spending that much time with her I think something may be going on.

wowee.
i'm about your sisters age and i have admittidly been 'involved' with older men, about the same age as the guy she's seeing. only my closest friends knew about it, and my parents and family didn't.
i made some huge mistakes and put myself in a great deal of danger even talking to these men. and WHY would a guy that age wanna go out with someone so young? i ask the question to older guys and they all say one thing - inexperience.
this all happened to me 1-2 years ago [terrible i know] and i think i was just flattered that they liked me or thought something of me, so it felt right to like them back. DON'T GO THERE. it will stuff your sister up really bad, and he is only in it for one thing. show her this if you want.
i'm not a slut either. i have had 2 proper relationships, one lasting nearly 2 years and i am in one now. the other guys have just been inbetween, keeping in mind there were only 3 and not at the same time.
protect your sister.

No, what do a 23 year old man have in common with a 16 year old girl? He most likely has other motives.

My 14-year-old friend was seeing a guy she thought was 25. That is still quite an age difference. Apparently he was really nice to her, and they even kissed. After they kissed, that night, she found out that the guy already had a girlfriend. She was furious, however she still was seeing him. Weeks later, someone she knew was telling her that she went out with him. That's when my friend found out that the guy was NOT 25, he was 36. AND was MARRIED AND HAD KIDS!!! He clearly wanted one thing from her, but that isn't G rated. I would talk to your sister privately and tell her that he is probably up to no good. He might seem nice, but he might also be acting it. Good luck!

Sounds like statutory rape to me but, in some states, it's OK to seduce 16 year olds. You should look into the laws in your state. Around here, parents sometimes get restraining orders against older men so they will stay away from moronic 16 year olds with an itch to grow up too fast.

I would go have a chat with this young man and make the urge to hang out with 16 year-olds go away.

Sounds fishy to me, Do your parents know about this? 23 years old, why do you want to be hanging around with a 16 year old girl?.......Oh yea, he can easily manipulate her. Better stop her if you can.

i think it's ok...but u must ask her to take care of herself...it's quite dangerous to go out with a 23 year man, which is not an old man and a mature guy, so she must be take extra careful...just try to give her advice about the outcome might be...
