Helen Keller once said that she'd rather be blind than deaf, because being blind cut you off from things but being deaf cut you off from people. I wonder what she would say today in the age of cochlear implants. I guess I would personally rather be deaf a) because there are more options restoring hearing than sight and b) because not being able to drive when living in California would really be a pain in the you-know-where.

I guess deaf so then I could still see. My daughter is considered deaf/blind by the state because she has combined vision & hearing loss. But she is not completly deaf of completly blind.

I would much rather be deaf! If I was blind I could see my dreams and that is a fact, I would hate that so much, not hearing would be better than that.

If I had to choose, I would want to be deaf, because I don't think I could stand to live without sight.

Deaf. I wouldn't be able to survive knowing that I can never see anything in this world.

definitely deaf! I can't imagine living life without sight, it just wouldn't be worth living if you couldn't see anything.
