For any of the people who answered the above question by saying that their individual lives are more important than the liberties which are the only thing that separate America from any other country in the world:

WHY DO YOU WANT TO PROTECT AMERICA?

You are obviously willing to give up everything that makes you an American, just so you don't have to die. So, since you feel that your individual life is far more important than preserving the integrity of your country, why do you think it's important to prevent international terrorism? Why NOT convert to Islam and give up all your liberties? You'll be allowed to live if you do that. So why not just do it?

Personally, I'd rather die than allow a government to infringe on ANY of my rights. And YOU don't get to choose which of MY rights I have to give up so YOU feel safer.

I'm not one of the buffoons you're addressing this to - but I just want to add my "second" to your last sentence.

Qiut your whining. You haven't given up any liberties.

I can only assume that you are talking about the Patriot Act. Since that is all the liberals complain about wearing away thier liberties.

I will give you the Constitution to answer your question.

Article 1 Section 9

The privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it.

Notice should the public safety require it. We are at war right now with something the founding fathers could never have imagined. They sneak in, in the dark or night, and killed civilians. Some acts are being taken to protect civilians. The Patroit Act is ONLY directed in cases of Probable cause. When someone is suspected of communitcating or conspiring with a know terrorist.

The Only case that has been adjudicated for wrongful imprisonment under the Patroit Act has been settled for 2 million dollars for 2 weeks in prison while they checked his story. It will not happen to you if you are not doing anything questionable. The reason it happened to him was that his fingerprints were found at a bombing site. Theat was probable cause, but the govt. gave him adequet compansation.
