Germs are rarely important as they are mostly virus and disease causing bacteria, protozoa, and fungi. Like all organisms, they evolve and reproduce, in this case by asexually splitting and doubling. No one created germs, but Louis Pasteur developed the theory that germs cause disease in the 19th century.

Germs are important because the caused animals to create an immune system. Germs evolved from single cellular lifeforms. They are the simplest life forms and they are the most basic population controller. They also are beneficial. The germs available today are different from the ones a billion years ago. They have evolved with us and other animals.
