No there is a flood of foreign trained medical professionals that work cheap for the insurance companies and are forcing native American doctors to give up because they are unable to make a decent living on the slave wages insurance companies want to pay.

I don't know of any doctors quiting the profession because they couldn't make a living and there are none standing in the unemployment lines here . I do know several doctors and they are all doing very well.so no I don't think we have a surplus.

Actually, no. The American Medical Association artificially restricts the number of doctors. That is why there were so many doctors when I was a kid that they made house calls. On the other hand, back then most doctors were solidly middle class in their lifestyle. They earn much more now because of these restrictions.
