I think we do our children an injustice by saying they are so violently influenced by T.V.
They know how false it all is and are laughing at adults who keep pressing this point.
The advertising is a different matter. That they believe and it is more dangerous than some of the programs they watch.
When T.V. was new, people of all ages watched it for hours on end. Now there are too many other things for children to do.

I believe that tv has a strong influence on a child's perception of his or her world, depending on what they are exposed to and for how long.If they grow up watching violent programs which a lot of children do because of older siblings and even parents that becomes the "normal" behavior, though they in their families may not use violence per se,they are desensitized towards it and when they become teenagers they move on to even more violent video games and why the crime rate among people 18 to 27 is so high. When I was a child I spent more time playing outside with my friends than watching tv,we didn't have computers or video games, and obesity in children was rare, when my son was growing up in the 90's it was the opposite, on warm sunny days I would chase him and his friends out of the house and I put a limit to how much nintendo he could play, and what and how much tv he could watch and he was an outgoing, active child.I have been around enough to see the impact that violence has in our society,so much aggresion, crime, suicides, depression in young people alone is sad to see.

it desensitizes kids to violence and death that is why they have no remourse for hurting people. If you would have told me that society would start trying kids as adults I would have called you crazy. Now everytime I watch tv some kid shot up a school, killed his family, robbed a store, or raped a girl. Television will be the downfall of western civilization. It's a shame that you can show people getting their heads blown off but if Janet Jackson exposes her breast she get fined by the FCC.

I Agree that T.V would influence the kids and teens.
Kids have a feeling that wanna know something new,and when they grow up to teenage.it's not impossible that they would do the things that they saw in T.V.
so suggest them to make something funny and peace work.
I wish you luck

i think TV has a great influence on the minds of people, like a mind conditioner, conditioning the minds of people on how they should think
