Depends what kind of girl you're trying to impress. Lets face it, a girl who knows her bikes and is into riding herself can tell if you're a noob on a 600 or a 250, so why bother right now. You're prob pretty young like me (I'm 18, got my motorcycle license right after my drivers license at 16.1). My dad made me ride our 1987 rebel 250 for a while before letting me move on to a bigger bike. To be honest, it was more fun when girls approached me on the rebel than on the YZF600R. They'd be like..."wow nice bike".
And I could reply with the fact that it was a beginners bike...or sometimes even call it a grandma bike. Its alot more fun to joke around about it than to hide behind the power of a supersport that you don't know how to use.

So in conclusion, get the 250. Its cheap, fun, and forgiving. But seriously, those ninja 250s hold their value. When you're tired of it, you don't lose much of an investment. Also, if you're planning on getting those girls by showing off speed, all 27 horsepower of the Ninja's engine rocket you to 60mph in 6 seconds (providing you are a somewhat decent shifter). Thats more than plenty to beat the captain of the football team's civic out of the parking lot.

If your buying it why do you want to know what it's like to ride on back? Wondering about your gf? Honestly you should get a bigger bike. I'm new to riding and was tempted to get a smaller bike but started out on an 800. I'm glad I did, your gonna outgrow a 250 in less than a month. Also, it's a small bike so it's probably not goign to be comfortable on the back. No sport bike is really goign to be comfortable on the back. I have an Intruder 800 with a sissy bar and my gf goes for rides with me all the time, alot of space, very comfortable, she says she doesn't even need to hold on b/c the seat is so secure. I woudln't start out on anything smaller than a 600, your going to wind up wnting something bigger very soon and will lose money trading up.

Girls like any motorcycle. Most of the time, they have no clue about the type, size, brand, etc.

If they do know bikes and see you on a 250, at least they know you aren't some stupid squid. Learning on a 250 shows that you are a responsible, intelligent rider who knows his limits.

Only squid chicks like squids, so who wants one of those.

girl here, sportbike fan. honestly, i am learning on a 250cc and will probably ride that one until i am confident enough to have a 600cc between my legs. if you are just starting out, heck its fine...but if you have been riding for ages and are still on a 250cc, i would giggle a little...but it doesnt make you more or less attractive. be yourself and get the bike you like, cause at the end of the day you dont want to be sitting at home having shelled at 15K for a yzf or something that you cant/dont want to handle...and no girls around to make it better....good luck.

Maybe a girl will come to you because you ride a bike, but when she realizes that you have the low confidence you exhibited by asking that question, then she'll lose interest immediately. If that doesn;t do it, then your limited income will. Girls don;t like horny guys who are broke and afraid of a little danger.
I get girls riding my bike and I get girls walking on my two feet.

Just keep it real buddy, you ain't foolin nobody

If a woman is a bike fan she will not think much of your 250cc. If she knows nothing about bikes, but thinks you are cool then she will think it's a great bike.

However a 250cc may not be able to carry two up.

I love sports bikes. Personally i don't like anything less than a 600, but it's really cool that your into bikes. To really turn me on, jump on a GSXR1000 or a Busa. I love the power and the sound.

Screw (metaphorically speaking) those biotches. Get a bikle that you like. I too, like the small bore bikes, like the ninja. I also like the CBR125 and 250 (too bad they don't import them to the US) But, I am a huge motocross guy, I have a KX125, which will put most biotches on their azz.
