id rather lose an arm because with 1 leg u cant walk, u can still do most things in your life with 1 arm that u can do with 2 arms if u think about it, no it wont be easy but its better than losing a leg

I think I would rather lose an arm - preferably my left arm if I had the choice - of course it would make some things more difficult, but I think it would be worse to lose a leg.

Definitely, a leg !! Reason: it is alot more difficult to do many things with only one arm vs. only one leg . I have had surgery on both of my shoulders and, I must say that I had several challenges. Trying to do laundry with one arm, or washing dishes ( impossible) with one arm. Trying to shower with one arm. People that have not had the either one of these things happen to them, would prefer the loss of a leg. For some reason, this has a more profound impact. But, this is based on opinions that I have encountered. I have suffered a broken leg as well. So, I know what each feels like.

You know, before I probably would have said I'd rather lose an arm because I could still walk... but my grandfather lost his leg (from diabetes) and he learned to walk with a prosthetic leg... With shoes on, and pants, you wouldn't know any different, he walks so well... You can learn to walk with a fake leg, doing things with a fake arm I think would be more difficult... does that make sense?

I would rather lose a leg because it is easier to hide than an arm, I am missing both of my big toes and no one notices as long as I don't wear sandals, it would be impossible to hide the fact that you are missing an arm.

An arm. My left arm that is because I'd hate to have to use a wheelchair. Losing a leg as others above me have already said, is much more crippling.

Leg. I think it would be easier coping with having a prosthetic leg, rather than arm. I like being able to feel with my hands, and I've seen some pretty incredible things done by people with prosthetic legs. (See: Sarah Reinertsen)

A leg. They have wonderful prosetic technology these days. Without an arm I would feel less human and less able to take care of myself. Plus, I've been on crutches before for some kind of comparison and it was easier than having my broken arm.

WOW!!!

I think a leg. There seems to be better artificial legs than there are arms. The little hook/claw at the end of a artificial arm is far from a real hand!!!!

Great question - I give you a star!!

A leg, because it doesn't restrict you as much as if you lost an arm. Many tasks can be completed minus a leg, thanks to prosthetics/wheelchairs.

Also, the technology for a prosthetic arm is much less refined than for a leg.

I really hope you're not in a situation where you've gotta choose...
