My favorite part is when Dorothy is singing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". Toto (Terry the cairn terrier) keeps trying to get her to pet him (actually her) again. It's such a cute bit along with this beautiful song that almost got cut from the film. They thought it slowed down the action! Thank goodness it was decided to keep it in the film.
There are so many wonderful scenes in this amazing film, but this one always makes me get teary, and sometimes I do cry. What a lovely moment it is.
Now, does anyone have a least favorite? I do~Bert Lahr's number, "If I Were King of the Forest". Even when I was a little girl, I didn't like that part. It seems to be a filler. They should have kept in "The Jitterbug" or more of the Scarecrow's song and dance.

There are so many great parts to the movie, how do you pick?
I love "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" from the movie and every show when Judy sang it.
When the Munchkins do "The Lolly pop Guild.
The yellow brick road and the song "We're Off To See the Wizard".
My favorite part, which is for a lot of people as it so oft quoted, is when Dorthy says "Toto, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore".

The Munchkinland sequence is a favorite of mine.
I have a settlemental attachment to Wizard as my friends and I did it for community theatre. During "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" 400 pounds of wood (the next scene's set) was suspended over the stage and the rope broke. Had our Dorothy not stepped foward to emote the "lemon drops" verse, she would have been killed! I would've been if it fell 1 minute earlier (I was Uncle Henry) and the 1st graders we had doing the munckins would've died if it fell 5 minutes later!
We got lucky!
