In crime, premeditation means planning something before one actually completes the action. For example, premeditated murder, as opposed to manslaughter (unplanned).
In its normal usage, premeditation just means planning your actions before actually doing them. An example would be thinking and deciding what you're going to have for dinner.

DUH. If you really don't know, buy a dictionary. Any time you think of doing something before you do it, that's premeditation.
