My car gets 22 street and 30 highway MPG. I drive a 1999 Nissan Altima. I was wondering how many miles can I go if I fill it up? How many miles can I go on a quarter tank of gas? Thanks for all your help.

We first need to know the size of your fuel tank to make any calculations.
Please understand this: With any brand car gas gages are relative critters by nature. Some gages move slowly till it reads half full then all of a sudden they drop like someone stuck a screwdriver in the gas tank. Some gages seem to stick on full forever and all of a sudden drop like a bolling ball off a roof.
The moral of my story is: Look in your handbook in the glove compartment under specifications to find your fuel tank size. Fill your car at a particular filling station in a particular spot. Write down the mileage and drive till the gas indicator light is on. If possible return to the same filling station in the same spot an fill your tank. In the back of your mind you know what the capacity of your tank is. Divide the gallons into miles driven to find your mileage. * Now most importantly, subtract the gallons you put in from the total tank capacity to learn how far you could have driven till the tank ran dry.

Fuel gages are about as accurate as sticking a wet finger in the air to find which way the wind is blowing. For anyone to accurately tell you how far you could go on 1/4 tank of gas would be guessing at best. I'm not poking fun or otherwise minimizing your question but that's pretty much how inaccurate they are.

you tank can hold about 15 gallons of gas (60 liters).

so straight highway driving, you could go about 450 miles
in town driving, would be about 330
This is just on a full tank of gas, you'd want to fill up before then so you don't run out of gas.

on a quarter tank, that's about 112 highway and 82 in town(again you'll want to fill up before you hit that point.

Your engine is revving bigger in third kit bigger revs skill greater gasoline being sucked in the process the carburetor/ gasoline injectors say at 75mph turning 2500 rpms verses comparable velocity at 1500 rpms. The decrease the rr's the hetter/ much less gasoline used The fster the rp0ms the greater gasoline used, the slowere the rpms the fewer gass fed on Overdrive became the final ingredient going when you consider that slicd bread
