My daughter is 17 months with low muscle tone.She's improving with therapy i was wondering if anybody here has kids with low tone and does it get better with time?

it really depends if they have a reason for hypotonia. my son was diagnoised at 4 months with "low muscle tone" they did mri's, genectic screening, ultrasounds, head ct. and couldnt find a real reason why he had it. he was slower at doing everything "than a normal" child growing. he started waking at 15 months and he has been improving very rapidly now. you should consult with your physical theripist for you daughter, they really do know a lot. something to look into would be with a nuerologist about cerebal palsy. however like i said is it just depends if their is a defing reasioning for hypotonia. is she delayed in any other areas such as ot, or speech? that could make a difference.

Low muscle tone, or hypotonia, is seen in several conditions. Has your daughter seen a neurologist, and has a definitive diagnosis been made? You need the diagnosis before one can offer a prognosis, and that prognosis should be made by your child's doctors, not by us on Answers.
