Let's assume you want to get into Med School. Your academic qualifications are hopefully a given. You need to give individual personal reasons for wanting to train as an MD. Avoid well meaning but general phrases like 'I want to save the world from disease' etc. Instead refer to particular instances from your own life which have motivated your interest or involvement in medicine. Give specific examples where your involvement or membership and leadership qualities in a group would be relevant to your choice of study and also in pursuit of your chosen career.
