Certainly 1 and 2 offer valid points ( no pun) AND it largely depends on what depth you want and eventually for what purpose. Is there even a certainty of any quantity of water?

I live in Central FL. I've sunk wells with PVC and a garden hose, as well as a point. Pounding a well is labor intensive even to 15 ft. depending on soil composition.

Born and raised on a farm in Upstate NY, we used to auger shallow wells with a back hoe for the power source.

My dad drilled a couple wells this way. Looks a little bit like a pry bar tip. As the well is pounded down the point will push the rocks out to the side and also packs the soil and sand outwards as it goes down. This is probably only going to work for you if it is a fairly shallow. The well drilling machine can be made out of a winch truck, flywheel and pulley. Every time the flywheel comes around the cable will get longer and hit the point deeper.

Using a point. It is for soft sandy ground. Pounded into the ground with a post pounder. Would be used for a shallow well.(where the water table is close to the surface.) Deep wells(15 feet) need to be dug or bored.
