I just upgraded an old computer i had lying around to windows xp, more ram and hardrive, etc. The back of the computer has two USB 1.0 ports, and everything i need to run with them is usb 2.0. Are there any items out there I can plug into the port to convert everything to 2.0? Like at one end a 1.0 drive, leading to a 2.0 on the other?

Links would be much appreciated :)

Most USB2.0 devices are backwards compatible with 1.1

However if you want USB 2.0 on your Computer then purchase a USB 2.0 PCI card

The best you can do is to put in a card with 2.0 ports.
But this is still not true 2.0 as the ports are now limited by the bus speed.
Your 2.0 hardware will still work with 1.0 they just will not be as fast as they could be.

No, since there's no way to make your port go faster. USB2 is still the same port as USB1, albeit running at faster speed.

You're better off installed a USB port card into one of the PCI slots. That should give you true USB2 ports.
